Let’s face it….education in our ever growing and changing industry is VITAL to growth and success. I, myself, have attended many coaching sessions, conferences, mentoring, etc. I knew that before I really wanted to delve into hosting my own workshop, I wanted to make sure I had some tips and tricks of my own…and not just pass along a mash up of what everyone else has told me.
I have teamed up with Shore Thing Event Services CEO, Crystal Hunt, and we are hosting a styled shoot at Historic Cold Spring Village here in Cape May, NJ. Its a gorgeous property to shoot in the fall and we are excited for what we have in store.
Leaving a workshop with new tips, tricks and education is always great, BUT leaving a workshop with hands on experience under your belt AND pretty pictures for your portfolio is an extra bonus! We will have models (a bride and groom of course) wearing a GORGEOUS Stella York dress from one of our favorite bridal shops in town, Free Love! Betsy was so kind to lend us this gown and we are excited to gift her with some gorgeous portraits! We have a few other things in store, but some elements will be left a surprise!!!
With our models we will focus on THE ART OF POSING! This is a huge struggle for a lot of photographers. I am sure you often feel as though poses are not being translated correctly; that you get stuck in a “brain fart” in the middle of the portrait session and don’t know what to do. I bet there are times that you are unsure of how to direct your clients and make sure they are having fun at the same time, all while getting gorgeous pictures in gorgeous light!!! Its hard….I know! But, I am going to show you some tricks! : P
We will also have a table scape set up so you can practice shooting table details, the cake, the florals and more.
We will provide a detail tray FILLED with all the details a bride usually has during prep so that you can practice shooting them as well. I will be walking you through HOW I style details on a wedding day.
The color palate we will be using is going to be a surprise so you will just have to sit tight for that. After the shoot, you will be given a list of vendors that were involved in helping the day happen for you to tag on social media and list in blog posts.
Lastly, we will also be serving lunch in between education and shooting and there will be a little something, something for you as well ; P
