I love when I meet others with a passion and desire to learn. To absorb as much information they can, digest it, and make it their own. I love those that are open to change, open to suggestions and are eager to embrace change. And lucky for me, my one-on-one mentoring gals/guys are just that. They are eager to take themselves and their businesses to the next level.

One-on-one mentoring is not a COOKIE CUTTER approach to turning photographers out there into mini me’s. Its not a way to enforce that my way is the RIGHT or the ONLY way to do things. Photographers simply gravitate to those that they identify with. Whether its a photographers personality, shooting style, approach to business/clients….whatever have you, I believe it is my duty as a mentor, coach and teacher to INSPIRE natural growth and change within each person. It is a huge responsibility and not one I take lightly. Each time I get the opportunity to meet and work with new photographers, I truly invest myself into their businesses and who they are as an individual, photography put aside.

These guys and gals have become my friends and I am SO EXCITED and proud of them for the changes they have made. Its so great to see what they come up with from little pieces of advice that they have taken from here and there. I honestly feel as though most photographers leave with a fire lit beneath their hinny’s and a blessing from me and a push reaffirming that THEY CAN do this, but it will take a lot of work and ultimately, faith!

Jackelynn was no exception. She traveled from Connecticut for our day together. In walks this fiery red head, with fair skin and an illuminating smile. She was straight to business and I loved her for that. She wanted to make the most of her time and so we did. We went through her social media outlets, websites, useful tips and tricks, design elements and more. After our chit chat and lessons, we headed out for some lovely head shots to decorate her new brand with, and here are a few I would love to share with you.
