I am constantly asked—what does your day look like?! How do you handle your work load, mommy-hood, and LIFE!!? To answer those questions, a blog series on MY WORKFLOW will have to be written….and I promise that will be out soon….but for now, lets focus on two tools that make my workload workflow just a wee bit easier and most importantly, organized!
1) A Workflow Chart
A few months back an amazing woman/photographer by the name of Elle Meredith (once a workshop attendee of mine), released an excel spread sheet that had a workflow built in. She offered it as a FREE download and I was so eager to see if it would help my workflow and keep me on track. And let me tell you, it was amazing! I went in and changed a few things that were more in line with my personal workflow process, but nonetheless, the whole structure really gave my business the organization it needed. PLUS…who DOESN’T love to check off things when they are done!?!?!? Its a great production booster and mood changer when you feel as though you are getting things accomplished and are being organized about it.
To meet Elle and download her workflow chart to make it your very own, click here! Thank you Elle for helping me with my business/life! : P
Where the blue box is highlighted, you can write your couples/clients names and/or wedding dates. Remember, you can customize the text to for your workflow and even add your logo/colors. Elle…this was genius…thank you for so generously sharing!!! Your a lifesaver!
(KNP TIP: I have mine printed and laminated in a glassless frame and I check each off with a fine point dry eraser marker : P)
2) A Custom Desktop Organizer
My desktop is one of my most favorite things….almost 2 years ago, one of my designers started selling customized desktops that feature your branding and provides a way to keep your desktop organized and clean WHILE providing a workflow system you can’t possibly ignore. On the sides, we have “KNP Business Stuff” (Not the most sophisticated label- but works for me : P ) This is where all my business papers go…contracts…workflow sheets, email templates, etc.
Other portions of the desktop feature a place for me to drag folders that need to be edited, uploaded to PASS, submission folders, etc. It gives me that visual representation of what needs to be done without becoming an oversight.
Between the workflow chart hanging on my wall to my left int he office and this as my desktop….these two workflow tools help me get through the business day a little more efficiently with a touch of all things KNP branding/pretty.
If you are interested in the custom desktop, click here! She will be able to give you a quote and create a design that works best for you and your business/workflow needs!!!
Stay tuned for future installments of my overall workflow from BOOKING to DELIVERY of images!
xoxo, Kaitlin Noel
