You may remember around the same time last year, well, relatively so; my husband and I went to Vegas as a 30th birthday present for Michael. While we were out there, we even had a day where we had portraits taken by the ever fabulous Vegas native, Jodi of J.Anne Photography. If you missed out on seeing those portraits, you can view them here. They will forever be some of my most favorite memories and photos.
Well this time, we are headed back, right BEFORE his birthday for a mini-cation and for a special event. As we speak I am in the air flying well above the clouds, disconnected from the world, on the way back to the town that never sleeps. (How fitting, no wonder I love Vegas. It fuels my insomniac side : P )
While in Vegas, we will be attending a wedding for our dear friends Corey and Gina and guess what….I HAVE THE NIGHT OFF. I will be able to be swung around the dance floor, have a glass of wine, and actually be a GUEST at a wedding. Now…we all know wedding photographers make for HORRIBLE wedding guests, so I may have to sneak a day before or after session in there to settle my nerves. Hopefully they will agree to it!
My camera is my limb. Literally attached to my body for most of every day. But for the next few days…I plan to make my husband my new limb. I plan to lean on him, hold him close, smile his way, and cuddle up with him until my one side goes numb. I plan to intertwine our fingers so I can’t see where they start or end as we hold hands. I plan to tell him how much I love him, need him, appreciate him and respect him.
I am excited to celebrate with friends, new clients of mine, take longer showers, eat smaller bites, and just sit and breathe in these precious moments. I will return next week eager to get back to you, my KNP family…and will be refreshed and ready to head full force into the rest of this wedding season.
What happens in Vegas, stays in Vegas!
BON VOYAGE, Kaitlin
