“Kaitlin- I feel like I am ‘pimping” myself out at weddings by leaving stacks of business cards around for people to grab. And to be honest, I am not sure ANYONE is taking them! There has to be a better way. I saw you mention something about an Event Card…what is that?”

Dear Looking For A Way To Flaunt Your Clients and Not Yourself,

Weddings are such a blast, aren’t they?

The planning that goes into making sure each and every detail is JUST right, from shades of linens, to the ribbons tied around each favor.

When I started creating same day slide shows at weddings, I had a lot of the guests and even some future brides that were in attendance, ask me for my business card.

At the same token, I also had a lot of the guests ask me “When will pictures be up? Where can I see them? Print them?”

They too, would ask for a business card, or scramble for a pen to write down my website.

THERE HAD TO BE AN EASIER WAY! A better way, a more efficient and PRETTY way to accomplish everyones requests.

Enter: Event Cards.

It is VERY typical to see vendors at the weddings passing out their business cards…leaving flyers or stacks of post cards/brochures around for guests to take if they are interested in their services.

I wanted to do something COOLER (for lack of a better word)!

I created an EVENT CARD that features an image from my clients engagement session. A link to their custom wedding website I make for them that contains everything pertaining to their wedding. (Engagement/wedding photos, love story, countdown to wedding, blog features, thank you message to their guests, etc) On the same card there is also a direct link where guests can view and PRINT their images professionally through my lab. Lastly, my website address is on the card. This is in case anyone wants to contact me privately outside of the realm of the wedding at hand. These cards are pretty, wallet sized and eye catching. Business cards are typically boring, tiny and generic.

***Starting now with the NEW PASS (blog coming at you soon about it), you can even put a pass link on the cards now that you can customize the link and they can see your same day slide show RIGHT from their phones AT THE WEDDING! AH-mazing!

Want to wow your clients and their guests, Event cards might be the way to go! I know they did wonders for my business in regards to print sales, raves, and new client bookings. Simply place them up on the bar or where ever you are presenting your same day slide show. If you are not doing the same day slide show, after cake is served and the tables are being cleared of all dishes…simply walk around and leave as many cards on the table as people are sitting and simply EDUCATE the guests that these cards are the way to view these images, download them and print them, AND get in touch with YOU if they have any further questions. My experience…they ALL reach out right away and put it RIGHT in their wallets and handbags and say “THANK YOU! I was just wondering about that…..Thank you….what a great help.”

Here are two samples:

I hope this wows your clients and guests and helps you FLAUNT THEM AND NOT YOU! Best of luck!

xoxo,

Kaitlin Noel

I love this idea!! So much better than business cards! How many do you normally take to a wedding with you? Do you print them out at a lab or somewhere else?

    • Kaitlin says:

Pictage to make and print…and I bring as many guests as my bride tells me she is having in attendance : P
