WHAT.A.WEEKEND! I have absolutely LOVED seeing your news feeds on Facebook as they are filled with your children dressed in their Easter best, families dyeing eggs, gathering for sunrise services, Easter meals, and Easter baskets that could give Christmas morning a run for their money.

I had the best time at Easter brunch with my boys and the bunny. We actually winded up doing it on a Saturday to avoid the chaos Sunday morning loves to bring. On Sunday, we did breakfast at home and then headed to SAM’s Pizza on the boards in Wildwood. BEST. PIZZA. EVER! After a few chilly rides, we were off to take naps and prep for a lovely family gathering at ALFE’s in Wildwood for dinner. Needless to say…my belly was happy…but my physical trainer may kill me this week! lol

In addition to lots of family time goodness this past weekend, I spent a lot of time doing homework for my designer ( Side Note: Writing another magazine is A LOT of work…especially when this one is nearly twice the size of the first) + VIP Lounge make overs, food shopping for the week, and prepping for an insanely busy week ahead.

On the to-do list….I have decided to make a “blog schedule” for the MONTH as opposed to the week by week basis I write them. I have not missed a day of blogging since returning from UNITED, and I think that has a lot to do with writing MOST blogs on Sunday, and saving one or two to write “when inspiration” hits me if you will.

So, in order to do so….I have a few ideas in regards to topics I want to touch on for both brides and for photographers….but I WOULD LOVE to get some more idea from all of you. Whether you are a bride/groom to be….just a fan….or a photographer…..PLEASE attach a question, idea, thought, anything….to the bottom of this blog post and you JUST MAY see yours mentioned this upcoming month on the blog!

Coming up tomorrow on the blog….THIS wedding…..man how I love me some “southern weddings” : P

Later this week….an oldie but a goodie from a 2013 wedding will hopefully be up as well….don’t forget…we still have QUITE a few weddings from last year to show off on the blog….hoping to put those up on Thursdays….as in “Throw Back Thursday” Weddings : P

I hope you all have a wonderful week and PLEASE don’t forget to shoot those questions/topics over via the blog and stay tuned to see when yours makes the blog!

xoxo, Kaitlin Noel

  1. Jenn says:

    Hey Lady!!

Hoping you’ll start to remember me soon, I’m in Orlando Fl and trying to bust into weddings and do the mama thing at the same time!

I am sure I may comment a few more times because I will think of more to ask about but I have a two part question. Right now I have only a 50mm 1.4 and I really like wide shots to show the scene, I try to do this and my subjects are almost always out of focus, even when they are in focus it still doesn’t look right? Do you think this is from the lens? That I should really be shooting with a wide lens for this, obviously I want one but I wanna make sure that it’s not a shooting problem why I can’t seem to get it to look right.

The other thing I wanted to ask is about shutter speed. I’ve always in my mind used it about motion like setting it to 200 to make sure there’s no motion blur with like kids and stuff like that but then I see like a picture the other day on ig posted by jasmine star and it was a back of camera shot of the bride and groom like arms up kissing and they are outside and the shutter is at 3200, what I wanna know is what else in my mind should I be thinking about when it comes to shutter speed? Why did she choose one that high? I just want to know what other factors I should be thinking about when it comes to shutter speed.

If I think of anything else I will share 🙂

  2. Sharon says:

Ok I have a question … doesn’t necessarily make up a whole blog post 🙂 but how much time is ideal for bride/groom portraits? Bridal party? Families? Like when doing your timeline … If you’ve never had a wedding before what’s a good guide to go by?

  3. A few ideas 😀
    – How to begin to find your “style” or “brand” as a photographer?
    – Your “go-to” poses or prompts you use during both E sessions & Weddings (i.e. forehead to forehead, etc.)
    – Timeline of your business and the “best” decision you made each year that you think helped move your business in the right direction.

    Thanks for asking!
