Aimee and Shelton married at The Reeds at Shelter Haven in Stone Harbor, NJ. It was an intimate rooftop affair held at Sunset on a warm and gorgeous June evening. When Aimee contacted me, I knew this wedding was going to be special. Unique. We were lucky enough to squeeze in a quick Cape May, NJ engagement session just days before their big day. You can view that adorable session here. The glow of sunset was equally gorgeous that evening.
Their weddings wasn’t the elaborate affair most weddings are. There weren’t bridesmaids and groomsmen.There wasn’t a band or DJ. There wasn’t even a cake to be cut. But what WAS there was FAR more important. There was more love and admiration and respect than I have seen in a long time. These two were focused on each other, their family, and God. Nothing was more important than each others happiness and their union as husband and wife.
The whole day was smooth and effortless. Everything fell into place just perfectly. Many tears were shed. And an equal amount of smiles and hugs were shared. There were prayers, toasts and blessings from their closest family members. The evening was perfect. Just before they sat down to their intimate dinner, we headed down to the docks at The Reeds and snapped a one in a life time photo of the most gorgeous sunset, on the most gorgeous day.
Aimee and Shelton, thank you for allowing me to be a part of such a special day in your lives. Its a day I wont ever forget and will cherish always. You reaffirmed my faith in love, in God and in the beautiful sacrament of Marriage! God bless you both!!

After some lovely portraits on the beaches in Avalon, we headed back to The Reeds for their private rooftop ceremony.
They were asked to turn and face those that were there to witness their marriage and to look into the eyes of those they hold most dear. It was a powerful and emotional moment!

And right as the sun took its final breath on the day, it kissed the water goodnight and Shelton kissed his new bride at the same time!
