The driveway used to have that distinct sound. Gravel rocks popping and crunching beneath my tires. The long path to the back door was lined with flowers and the garden beds were freshly plotted and blooming. Over time, some aesthetics have changed at 305 Rock Road, but the people…the memories…those have remained the same.

This couple, Susan and Frank….better known as Susie and Guy are not just any couple. Approaching 23 years of marriage, this couple stands to be my role models of love. These two love birds, role models of mine, are my grandparents. During a visit to North Jersey for a photography conference, I had the chance to visit with them. Driving into that driveway, sleeping across the hall from “Kait’s Room” (My childhood room that I claimed for the 2 months of every summer I spent with them), all brought back some of the happiest moments of my childhood.

It was my honor and privilege to be able to capture my grandparents and their beautiful love for one another at the one house, that is the source of my childhood happiness. It was so good to be back. It was even better to see them. Enjoy falling in love with my grandparents and their love…they make it hard not to!
