I slowly lift my leg and shake it as if I am trying to shake off dirt from the bottom of my shoe. Then I lift my arms and flail them around as if I am swatting an army of bees. Then my head starts to go….bobbing as a newborns head does when there are literally no neck muscles developed to keep your neck in one stationary location. The last to be affected is my hinny. I start to move it, in what I hope and wished resembled J-Lo’s latest butt shaking routine…but it truly looks like I just sat on a pile of hot coals. This my friends, is what I call “KAITLIN DANCING.”

Music makes me happy. Music controls my mood. Music affects my core.

Todays Tuesday Tip is simply to turn off the T.V. —STOP playing on Facebook. Step away from the “pinning”. If you have to be on the computer for your job, and you don’t have your clock radio/ stereo near by–
type in PANDORA in google and make yourself a play list.

Pandora is easy as pie (which I don’t get that expression because I have tried to make pie–and let me tell you, its not easy!!)

Whether you type in the search bar the name of the song you want to hear or the name of the artist or even the genre, PANDORA is amazing and automatically creates a playlist of songs that you just might love if you love that particular song, artist or genre.

For instance: I wanted to hear “Good Girl” by Carrie Underwood. I typed in “Good Girl” because that was a specific song I wanted to hear, and it automatically started playing my song and named my channel–“Carrie Underwood Channel”. After that song ended, a song by Taylor Swift Came on. Then Miranda Lambert. The Lady Antebellum. See where I am going with this?

 

 

Pandora is brilliant!

Tired of country? Type in a new artist/song and PANDORA will create another perfect playlist. If you so choose, you may skip a song up to three times. Yes its true, PANDORA may have an off day or you may be highly picky about your music…but sometimes some songs come on that we rather no sit through. So go ahead, skip the song up to three times in a row and you are on to the next.

Love the song? Give it a thumbs up. Much like “liking” Facebook statuses, you can “thumbs up” a song. This rating is saved and it lets PANDORA know it is on the right track of music selection with that particular song.

It is so easy to get dragged down and overwhelmed with all the work we may have to do in a day, but if you really get into a “groove” (pun intended) you can get a lot more accomplished. I know that I love some background noise when I am working. Whether blogging, editing, or working on marketing—dead silence actually distracts me and the T.V. steals my attention full force. But music, 80’s or country, in particular, is my go to to keep me focused, motivated and happy throughout the work day.

Tuesday’s Tip is to let music affect your mood in a good way. Choose songs that motivate you. Turn of the T.V. , go sit back down at your desk, grab a cup of joe, create a killer playlist and get your groove on and that productivity on. If you so desire, get up, dance a little. Stretch it out. Dancing—even when it is as awful as mine—can totally improve any situation : )
