Don’t blink. Our parents tell us that when we have kids. Country songs tell us this in their lyrics. Other people say it all the time. Its so true. Every time I blink another year has passed. My once 5lb 11oz peanut of a baby is turning Lucky # 7 today and its just NOT OKAY! Its never going to be okay!
Being a mother is THE HARDEST/BEST job in the planet. Its tough for a ton of reasons, but on days like today…watching your baby grow up in what feels like a blink of the eye….makes being a parent even harder. I am so proud of my son Nicholas. He is my energetic, drama king, sport/activity loving, sugar fiend boy. He is our romantic (allllways picks me a flower any time he sees one), he is our cuddler, and our 30 year old. He IS DYING to grow up, have a big boy wallet like dad and get a phone and license. I can’t even deal.
But he NEVER lets me go to bed without a hug and a kiss. He always runs to hold my hand. He draws me endless pictures because he knows Im a sucker for handmade cards. He has a heart of gold…and at only 7…I am so proud of the little man he is. Nicholas Matthew….you are my first born. You made me a mama and I thank God everyday for allowing me to be YOUR mommy.
Here is to a day of your favorites: Cheerios and Strawberries for breakfast, chicken nuggets and salad for dinner, sponge bob cake for dessert and endless power ranger/dino ranger cartoons (God help me!). I love you little man…thank you for loving me and making me so proud of you. Hope 7 is your best and luckiest year yet! HAPPY BIRTHDAY NICK!
