April 1, 2013 she went for a run. A 5 mile run. Then, a hair appointment. And then, a moment of impact! Genny went totally numb on the right hand side of her body. She was immediately rushed to Cape Regional Hospital where she was instantly admitted. The next day, following an MRI, it was reported that “something” was showing on her brain. Without haste, she was rushed to Jefferson Hospital for emergency brain surgery. And then, another moment of impact.
The doctor told her it was Glioblastoma… grade 4.
Genny visited the best doctors around and concluded that being treated at Duke University in Raleigh, NC was her next move. Radiation, plus chemo for 34 days. And until the end of this month, she plans to continue with both.  Genny spoke of how although it was a difficult time in her life…it was the strength, love and support of her family that got her through and keeps her fighting. She told me, “I’m so blessed….they gave my a better perspective on life….they are the best family and friends I could ever ask for!”
Over the past year, I have watched Genny tackle this situation with courage, strength, love, and positivity. She is one of the strongest people I have ever met and I ADORE all of her family and friends who constantly keep me updated on her progress. Seeing her the other day for her final consult….her wedding less than a week away, she was nothing but smiles…excited to marry the man of her dreams….celebrate with her loved ones…AND go into her wedding day knowing all scans are CLEAR! God bless! I can’t wait to capture this amazing day and celebrate love and life with you and your awesome support system!
Here is a look back on your engagement session that is LONG over on being blogged!

Just look at their puppy, Duke. He was names after Duke University Hospital where Genny was treated.

So in love and oh so sweet!

This image just ROCKS ME to the core….I love the way she is gripping his shirt…you can just FEEL their strength and love! Can’t you?

WORK IT GIRL….MODEL MATERIAL!

Genny’s Brainstormers….amazing shirts made in her benefit rallying support from almost our entire county and THEN some! We even got to raise funds for her and another cancer fighter at Freeza Palooza (a huge benefit/beef-and-beer) this past winter.

Pure joy. True happiness!

NOW THIS IS A FUN IMAGE!! We went to their home and created her vision! It was so cute, unique and so them! What a perfect day, perfect session, and perfect couple!

  1. Rebecca says:

These images are so extremely moving. You captures the moments so beautifully. I almost cried looking through them. What a strong couple!

  2. Kristin says:

Wow what beautiful images and gorgeous couple! As a cancer survivor myself I know the most important thing while kicking cancer’s butt is a great support system, lots of love and a positive attitude…and it sounds like Ginny has all of those things! Can’t wait to see the wedding photos! Oh..almost forgot..that puppy is soooo cute!! And I LOOOOVE that last shot…it’s so fun!!!

  3. Sharon says:

This is beautiful … Beautiful pictures and story. Congrats to them and good luck for the future!! I hope they have the best wedding day ever! How special!!

  4. Rici says:

Touching images! Grateful I saw them 😉

  5. Rhiannon says:

Absolutely beautiful. My dad had stage 4 brain cancer and drs in nj were just going to let the cancer take over until it killed him but then we seen an ad for duke University and an experimental brain surgery so they flew him down he had it done and has been in remission for almost 7 years. God bless duke University and god bless you Genny. You will make a beautiful bride. Best wishes to you
