Eggs were filled with candy and coins. Baskets sat spewing neon colored grass on the coffee table. White powdery foot-prints led the way to years of tradition left for my two little boys to discover. Peter Cotton Tail had come and the look in my boys eyes when they saw what the notorious bunny had left, assures me that there still is MAGIC in the world….at least in the eyes and hearts of my pure and innocent children.
We put on our “Easter Best”–more like our “Easter-whatever wasn’t dirty or wrinkly” (heheh) because I forgot to pick up the dry cleaning. We headed over to Congress Hall in Cape May for breakfast with the bunny, family lawn games, train rides, and more. Mother Nature, with devilsh plans of her own ,DID put quite a damper on all “spring like” activities, but NOTHING would stop us from a ride on the famous Congress Hall train. My boys, Thomas and Polar Express Obsessed beings, DARTED towards the 4 car train and dressed up conductor. With a golden ticket to ride placed in their hands we were off. For the next 5 minutes…we were escaping together as a family…through the hills made of candy, skies made of cotton candy, and to a land of pure excitement and wonder. It was the best 5 minutes of my day!
My family is the most important thing in the world, and though they avoid my camera at all costs, I did manage to grab a few shots of them…and better yet, ACTUALLY got to be in some for a change!
I hope you all enjoyed your Easter and I hope you all understand why I have to say good -bye to my photography career all together. Today I OFFICIALLY QUIT!
JUST KIDDING…I COULD NEVER DO THAT. APRIL FOOLS!!!!!! : P
