I can not believe a whole year has passed since the last dance. How and why does time fly by ever so quickly!?! People always ask me if I could wish for one thing in the world, I always say TIME! There just isn’t enough of it for anything! And it sure runs out quicker than any of us expect.
Now this date night was yet another for the books, but this time I got to attend with BOTH of my boys. Last year was the first year they hosted the dance and Nicholas was in Kindergarten. We got all dressed up and exchanged our corsage and boutonnière and headed off to a night of dancing and sundaes. This year I got to go with my now first grader for the second time and bring my 1st time preschooler, Ryan along as well. We got ready in our rental house as our current house is being built. Though we didn’t go as EXTENSIVE with the pictures process this year, I am so happy we got these!
I love that the school puts on this type of event. Its great to see moms/grandmoms attending with their sons and Dads/granddaughters with their girls. Granted, most the night is spent with them running around in circles, shoving the occasional chip in their mouth, a swig of the closest juice box and back to running circles. But for me, its exciting to show them how to treat a lady. How its important to dress up once in a while and VERY important to spend time together UNPLUGGED from toys/technology.
There was food that was catered, an extensive sundae bar, a red carpet and even a photobooth. It was such a great set up this year!
I had my second shooter, brother from another mother and best buddy come over to snap a few of us during prep and some formals in the hallway at their school. He is so kind and gracious to do this again for us and my mama heart is just bursting looking at these images.
Time flies guys, soak up every moment. Take pictures. ENJOY your kids…even WHEN they drive you up the wall. Boys…mommy loves you. Thanks for the date!
