Time is money. Time is precious. Time always seems to be in short supply. That is why as professional photographers, our workflow is pretty much the basis to our success and sanity.
It is easy to get caught up in everything we have to get done, get side tracked and distracted from the goal at hand. By the time we realize how ofF course we have gone…we realize that the actual day itself is gone. “Wasn’t it just 11:00am? How is it already 5:00pm?”
Between shooting, editing, marketing, updating our websites, keeping on top of our inboxes both in our email and now on Facebook, its hard to even think about one of the most “time consuming” parts of being a photographer: BLOGGING!
If you are a fellow photographer, you either love to blog or hate it. There really doesn’t seem to be an in between. Same goes with album design. Either you love it or you literally cringe at the thought of it. See, I am a huge scrapbook fan, so one would actually think I love to write and love to create my albums…and I actually do…but in terms of workflow, its hard to be in love or a fan of something that slows you or business down.
I would see photographers cranking out blog after blog. Post after post with endless photos, all sized perfectly, all watermarked, all in perfect storytelling order. I would fall victim to the “huff and puff and angry growl as I wondered how they had time for it all. What did their workflow have that mine didn’t? Especially in terms of blogging.
Then it happened. One of most favorite photographers, Katelyn James, released a blog post about this program titled BLOGSTOMP.
I felt like I just hit the workflow lottery. Imagine- a program designed to answer my prayers. Something that would make blogging easier. Faster. More fun. After a brief happy dance I went straight over to their site and hit PURCHASE!
Now, with most programs I have bought to help my workflow in this industry such as Pictage, ShootQ, WordPress, etc…I have had to spend a few days, if not weeks, adjusting to and learning the ins and outs of my new workflow champions. But BLOGSTOMP wasn’t like anything I have ever used. It was literally one of the easiest, most effective, and best tools I have ever incorporated into my workflow. I chose to custom my pictures with a white tab and my logo and the bottom. It’s perfect!
BLOGSTOMP will surely allow for the following:
1. Faster and more organized workflow.
2. Fun! You will actually have fun blogging!
3. Customized, protected images.
4. Multiple options and arrangements of images for the story you want to show/express.
5. Jealousy! Everyone that isn’t using it and sees you using it will most likely swoon at the idea of it and will jump right on the BLOGSTOMPIN’ BANDWAGON! : P
I am now at a point where I can’t function without it. I can’t even imagine what I used to do before BLOGSTOMP. Blogging and the purpose behind it suddenly re-entered my life and my business. Thank you Katelyn for your post about BLOGSTOMP and thank you BLOGSTOMP for being such a wonderful and work flow altering addition to my business! I am now and always will be a very proud BLOGSTOMPER!
Hope this Friday Favorites FIRST EDITION inspires you to stay tuned for all of my FAVORITE things. Not everything will be photography related, but for this particular Friday, BLOGSTOMP is most certainly one of my favorite things! : P
Stay Happy, Beautiful and Fabulous!
