Snow. I have the snow to blame and ironically to thank for the series of images you are about to see. This was the day I was supposed to be back in New Jersey. I arrived at the airport at 6 am, only to have my flight home delayed and ultimately canceled. By noon, I was informed another flight home would be scheduled for the FOLLOWING DAY! Apparently the east coast was being slammed with a snow storm and flights for MANY were being cancelled left and right. I was so frustrated because I knew I needed to get home to the children and help my husband out. I was frustrated that Delta was LESS than empathetic and accommodating. I was frustrated I had to wait in the airport for 6 hours for this information. I was just plain old FRUSTRATED!
To my rescue, my 3 shinning knights rode in, in the form of a silver mini van and saved me and truthfully saved my day. Thank you Trevor Dayley, Bud Johnson and Timothy Eyrich….yall are my heroes!
They so generously picked me up from the airport, brought me back to my hotel and even fed me a bag of sour patch kids to turn my frown upside down. Like I said, true heroes!
It was as if they KNEW I needed a pick me up after the day I had just gone through and they so kindly invited me to tag along on ONE EPIC shoot in the desert. This time, House of Style’s Stacy Childers would be behind the scene stylizing. Talk about a dream come true! The styles, outfits, scenery and ultimately the models…they all brought the gorgeousness!
I made some new friends and strengthened some other friendships on this trip. A huge shout out goes to my promo video creators and friends for driving, Nick and Steph Williams. Post shoot we were off to my buddy, Dee Robinson’s restaurant pick that was also famous for being on Man vs. Food. It was so delicious but the BIGGEST individual servings I have ever seen in my life. I thought I was ok ordering a grilled cheese. BOY WAS I WRONG! Hash House a Go Go…you beat me in this challenge for sure, but Ill be back….ready and prepared with yoga pants on!
This snow day served to be one of the BEST days I had at WPPI the entire week and will forever be grateful to the friends I made and the ones that made me feel welcomed and loved. The shoot was so different for me, challenged me and excited me for a year of weddings. Its so good for us creatives to try new things, push limits and train our eyes to see art in new ways. I hope this shoot captures at least SOME of the beauty I saw in person on this day! Enjoy!
