The ‘ding’ went off. It was the standard ding that sounds from my phone when another email find its way to my business inbox. Like usual, I swipe my screen, click on my gmail app and sitting cozily at the top, was not one…not two….not three, but FOUR emails from Denim & Grace. Each one said: You have been selected for feature. Four times in a row. At first I thought the email glitched and resent the same email multiple times. But to my surprise, 4 of MY IMAGES were chosen for print. Cue hyper ventilating.

For those of you that have NO IDEA what that is….please allow me to enlighten you: Denim & Grace is a photography magazine that was ‘created to inspire, evoke and encourage photographers of all genres’. It is becoming a wildly popular magazine for photographers simply because it was created BY photographers, featuring photographers, and written FOR photographers.

A few weeks ago, Denim & Grace was looking for photographers all over the world to submit photos in numerous categories to be featured in their 2014 Pose Book. This book would feature the best of the best poses from photographers all over the world in categories such as “glamour, wedding, bridals, boudoir, families, children, teens, and more.

I have always been a HUGE fan of Denim & Grace and would stalk their Facebook page and digital magazine issues in search of inspiration from the vast talent out there in the industry. On a whim and with a prayer, I submitted. I NEVER in my wildest dreams thought I would be selected….especially for images that have a FULL page feature. But by golly, I was chosen. Not once, but four times. Four images of mine are out in the world for all to see. For my peers to see. The insane amount honor I feel could never be expressed into words….let alone this blog post. But let me tell you that each tear that fell. Each squeal that was let out….it was in GREAT appreciation for a moment in my life and career I will not soon forget.

Thank you Denim & Grace for gifting me with a honor…a privilege and a moment I will never take for granted and will never forget. One by one by dreams are coming true. When I started in this industry I made a 5 year goal…be featured in a magazine. This year alone…I was featured in 4. Dreams do come true. Prayers have been answered. Thank you everyone for never giving up on me and my dreams.
