He is the peanut butter to my jelly….He is the technical to my candid….He is the calm to my spastic….He is the lighting guru to my preference of natural light. His name is Michael Sperlak of MIKE SPERLAK PHOTOGRAPHY and he officially has joined the KNP wedding team!

Please join me in welcoming him to my world of fun…. filled with pink, sparkles and my spastic ways. : P

Mike and I met through a local photography group set up on Facebook in my county. He was the light panting, landscape shooting, lighting wizard. I was simply the girl that was eager for knowledge…eager for the challenge, and eager to always push my comfort zone. The first time we met…it was about 1/4 of a mile walk to a dark beach jedi (we couldn’t see each others faces at all) where we played with steel wool photography. (Mighty different for this Lifestyle/Wedding photographer…but hey…why not?)

After that night, we met up a few times and we  just clicked (pun intended) He was the perfect photography match…my photography soul mate if you will. He was everything I wasn’t and didn’t really have the immense desire or drive to be. But together…it was magic. I am all about the candidness of moments. Mike is also fab at capturing moments…but he executes his shots with a lot more time…thought and technical additives. He can set up 3 light stands, manual flashes, my pocket wizard and his…JUST as if he is just tying his shoe lace. Me…Id be there for a good…say….day!

Mike Sperlak is more than a lighting guru and amazing photographer on his own….he is an amazing person with a HUGE heart and generous mind. Always willing to help others, share what he knows, and provide guidance to even the most difficult of learners (me!). His soon to be wife…actually in about a month….is the sweetest. We are both kindred spirits as well. Both Maryland girls…following our hearts to Jersey…clearly a similar taste in husband names (my hubby is a Mike too)…I couldn’t thank her enough for sharing him with me. I know he would much rather be home eating her delicious cookies (epic baker over here y’all) but he is out shooting with me as we both perfect our skills as a mighty duo.

My 2012 brides know who he is, as he has been with me to shoot your weddings. He is full of energy…constantly sweating because of his over achiever ways…and a true delight. He has really taken KNP weddings to another level and we are soooo incredibly happy to have him on board.

Scary thought though…for his wedding next month…I will be on my own….Lord help me without my mighty duo! I guess Ill let you slide on this one since its your wedding day and all Mike….but don’t ditch me again! lol
