This shoot happened out of now where. No really, it was not REMOTELY planned. After cruising around the Expo floor with Brooke and some amazing fellow photographers, I simply said, “I WANT TO SHOOT SOMETHING, SOMEONE….ANYTHING!” I was itching to create some gorgeous images while out in Vegas and since I wasn’t signed up for the conference or any paid shoots, the chances of that happening were slim to none.
My friends Bud Johnson and Timothy Eyrich (if you do not follow them, START NOW, they are incredible!) turned to me, smiled and said, “LETS DO IT!” Bud had some dresses he brought along from a designer named White Dress by Greta Kay, that another photographer had used for a styled shoot the preview day.
Now we needed a model.
A few more steps in the ironically correct direction, we stumbled upon the photography industry sweetheart, Callie Beale. She is seriously a ray of sunshine, i just adore her. (FOLLOW HER TOO!) I have met Callie a few times, but the most recent was when we were both flown out to Arizona to work as editors the brand new SHOWITEER.COM.
I joking said, hey were are going to go shooting in the dessert, you should come….we just need a model. Within 3 seconds she said, “Ill do it!” The stars aligned! We had just formed a “styled” shoot in less than 5 minutes! Callie raced upstairs to put in contacts and grab some make up. Brooke and I ran to get shooting clothes ona dn our gear. We all met in the lobby, formed an even bigger group of shooters along the way, and we were off to the Red Rock Cayon for one heck of an impromptu shoot! (Oh, we also made a pit stop at In-N-Out, but that here-nor-there, lol)
Below was my take on the afternoon. Thank you to Bud for the dresses, Tim for just being you and your antics, and Callie for being one heck of a gorgeous model and person inside and out. To the shooters that joined us this afternoon, yall are amazing and talented . Your images of this day are just stunning. I love and appreciate you all and your friendship!
