KNP blog fans and vistors, you are in for a special treat from the ever fab Carrie Swails today. She is my gracious Guest Blogger for the day and she is bringing some AMAZING tips to the table for brides-t0-be. So brides, grab your cup of morning joe and read what Mrs. Swails has in mind for your emergency wedding kits.

Take it away Carrie! : P

“Pink and sparkles. I saw Kaitlin from across the room at the United photography conference last week. I knew exactly who she was, but what I didn’t know was that I was going to spend the next few days getting to know her.

Man!!! Let me tell you is she awesome. So when she needed a guest blogger today I jumped at the chance and she crazily let me write to everyone. I  may not be pink and sparkly, but I certainly think my purple and polkadots can fit in here well.
I wanted to give all of Kaitlin’s brides a list of emergency items to bring to their wedding. After 5 years in the wedding photography business I’ve learned that sometimes the day doesn’t turn out perfect, but having a few emergency items to save the day can well…save the day!

20 Things Every Bride Needs In Her “Kit” on Wedding Day:

1. A Mini First Aid Kit – I always have a first aid kit with me. A few bandaids, wipes, gauze, tape and that kind of thing so I can save a finger or two if I have to.
2. A Mini Medicine Cabinet – I know when I’ve been stressing about something big I can get sick or feel a bit off. I always have some Pepto, Immodium AD, Eye drops, Advil, Tums, and Benadryl with me for anyone at the wedding who might need it!
3. Breath Mints – Need I say more? If you plan on doing some kissing (and I hope you do) you need Altoids.
4. Clear Nail Polish – Run in grandma’s pantyhose? Problem solved.
5. Bobby Pins – Bring lots!
6. Mini Tissue Packs – When I hand these out to the moms, the grandmas, the sisters and everyone else I’m the hit of the wedding.
7. Lotion – Moisturize! We can avoid dry, flaky, itchy skin this way.
8. Hair Spray – I bring a little mini hairspray. You know, one of those cute ones you can find in the Target travel section? Perfect for sliding into a little purse in case you get fly-aways during photo time.
9. Lint Roller – As a dog owner of dalmatians I can’t escape or hide the dog hair easily. White hair on the black pants and black hair on the white dress. You know you need one.
10. Duct Tape – It has a light side and a dark side – just like the force (forgive my nerd reference). Duct tape can be good for fixing all kinds of issues and hey if you  need to build a bridge with it for some reason you can do that too thanks to Mythbusters.
11. Emergency Snacks – Everyone says the wedding day goes really fast, and it does. Sometimes it goes so fast the bride and groom barely have time to eat their own dinner. Have a snack before the ceremony, to calm your nerves, keep the blood sugar up (no fainting please!), and keep you energized in case you get dragged into hugs and handshakes during dinner time.
12. Safety Pins – My theory is if something breaks you should be able to fix it between the duct tape and safety pins. Safety pins are great for broken dress bustles which happens more often than you’d think!
13. Static Guard – Holla!
14. A Mini Sewing Kit – To adjust anything that needs adjusting.
15. Bleach Pen – A white dress requires a bleach pen for emergencies. White chalk can also be a great substitute in tough situations.
16. Dental Floss – Everyone will thank you for their perfect smiles in photos later.
17. Deodorant – Block the sweat so you can dance the night away.
18. Extra Earring Backs – You never know when these will come in handy.
19. Extra pair of flat shoes – I had high heels and couldn’t manage them the whole night and instead went barefoot – not the best idea.
20. Cover up Foundation – For any blemishes that pop up in the last minute stress!
I hope this kit serves all you KNP brides to be and any other brides out there well. I had a blast Guest Blogging for Kaitlin today and I hope to be invited back soon!
